What is Parent Voices?
Parent Voices is a collective partnership of parents throughout California. We combine leadership empowerment, advocacy, and community organizing to move forward our goals to increase funding, improve quality, and expand access to child care in San Francisco and beyond. In San Francisco, we are celebrating our 25th year in 2021 and have built our credibility as advocates at the local, state, and national level as a genuine parent voice for child care.
Parent Voices is a project of the California Child Care Resource and Referral Network (the Network). Chapter organizations are hosted by local resource and referral agencies throughout California like Children’s Council of San Francisco. Our chapters work to improve access to child care for all families in their communities, California, and the United States.
Our Mission
We are a parent-run, parent-led grassroots organization fighting to make quality child care accessible and affordable to all families.
Our Core Values
Parent Voices believes in:
- working toward social change by developing new community leaders and parents to advocate for child care and respond to emerging issues
- having parents and child care consumers identify our issues, solutions, and courses of action
- acting with passion and resolve, using a variety of strategies
- having strong, articulate parents govern the policies of the organization
Join us in Fighting for Child Care for All
Join Parent Voices in advocating for quality and affordable child care. Child care is an important component to the development of young children and to the economic security of families. Parents earning, children learning!
